Susannah Faulkner
Associate Director
Susannah grew up in Erie, Pennsylvania and began her training with Lake Erie Ballet and Erie Bayfront Dance. During high school, she attended numerous intensives in the area including The Rock School and studied for a summer at the Pennsylvania Governor's School for the Arts as a Ballet Major. Her degree is in politics and communications from Ithaca College. While studying, she concurrently taught ballet at a local studio in Ithaca, New York as well as choreographed and performed with On The Floor Dance Company. Additionally, while attending graduate school at the London School of Economics, Susannah served as captain of the university's ballet team, LSE Dance Club, which went on to win 3rd place at the largest UK national dance competition. Most recently before coming to SFYBA, she managed the dance program for Parks and Recreation in Denver, Colorado. Since joining San Francisco Youth Ballet’s faculty, she has quickly become a popular instructor with the pre ballet as well as the intermediate and junior company dancers. In addition to teaching at SFYBA, Susannah also is on the summer guest faculty at the Denver Parks and Recreation Department. She continues to study ballet and dance in San Francisco while running her own public affairs consulting business.
